Neocaridina davidi ‘Blue Dream’

A blue flash among underwater roots: Neocaridina davidi ‘Blue Dream’ is a selected colour line of a freshwater shrimp species, not a separate species. It is a planned showcase grazer in KA’AETÉ’s future water world, which does not yet exist.

A grazer, not a cleaning machine

Shrimp search natural surfaces for biofilms, microorganisms, algae and fine organic particles. Their activity can link microscopic resources with larger parts of a food web. It does not replace testing water chemistry or managing waste.

Blue Dream is a captive colour morph

Neocaridina davidi is the species. The name ‘Blue Dream’ describes a selectively bred blue morph; photographs of other blue Neocaridina lines cannot establish the exact morph of an individual. Our image is a genuine blue Neocaridina reference, not verified Blue Dream stock.

Only after biological stability

Before stocking, the water system must show suitable and stable temperature, oxygen and nitrogen-cycle measurements. Shrimp-safe pump guards, biofilm-rich surfaces and protected areas for juveniles are design requirements. Mixing different colour lines is not planned.

PROJECT STATUS — selected, not yet introduced. The real KA’AETÉ cabinet build began on 16 October 2026. No finished underwater habitat is shown here.
